A Platonic Frame of Reference

In reading Slavoj Zizek’s essay “The Unbearable Heaviness of Being Divine Shit” (in the collection The Parallax View), I did not at first understand what was meant by the traditional Platonic frame of reference, but it seems to describe my way of thinking. That is, believing there is a single absolute truth somewhere out there leads to a dialectical search for the one right answer: yes or no; black or white; north or south, etc.

I am attempting to evolve my thinking so as to cultivate a tolerance for ambiguity, complexity and change.
